Dollar Academy introduced a new award at the end of last session to recognise the significant number of young people in the school who have represented their country in a sporting or cultural sphere. Details of the criteria can be found in the latest Information for Pupils booklet.
Former pupils are eligible to apply for the tie, and the Deputy Rector, Geoff Daniel, welcomes applications from all FPs who have had international representation. An FP who has represented his or her country after leaving Dollar is just as eligible as one who did it while at school. Thus, applications are welcome from Dollar FPs who have been internationalists at any time in their lives.
In the first instance, applicants should write a letter, or e-mail Mr Daniel at gpd@dollaracademy.org.uk with supporting evidence of their representation.
This should include details of the sport or activity, dates and places, and level of the team or performance involved. The application will be considered by the Colours Committee and successful applicants will be contacted thereafter. [The tie will cost £20, with free delivery in the UK.]
