Treasure Island Multimedia Competition
Form II pupils in their BEC Computing classes were given the challenge of producing a multimedia project entitled ‘Treasure Island’ using the programming language ‘Scratch’. This new language makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music and art. It also enables these multimedia creations to be shared on the web. The pupils were encouraged to work in small groups but could also work on their own if they wished. They were given two class periods to execute their plans using Scratch but some chose to also work on their projects at home or in the Computing Department after school.
The final results were varied and interesting, and a high standard was achieved, in particular, considering the time limitation imposed. The winning projects can be viewed below.
(Note that the Scratch projects have been converted to Flash files so no interaction is possible. Just click, watch and enjoy! )
