Japanese Visitors in Home Economics

During their visit to Dollar Academy, Japanese pupils and staff spent a morning in the Home Economics Department.  They helped to prepare a selection of Scottish recipes and enjoyed sampling the results.  For morning coffee they made scones and pancakes after Mrs Malcolm had demonstrated the making of Strawberry jam using local grown produce.  Lunch consisted of haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by strawberry shortcake.  At the end of the morning staff and pupils were given a small bag of shortbread biscuits tied with a tartan ribbon as a reminder of their visit to the department.
