BOYS’ TENNIS TEAM REACHES THE QUARTER-FINALS

The Boys’ Tennis Team (Calum McRae, Matt Williamson, Tom Henderson and Donald Griffiths) reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Boys’ Team Tennis Championships last week, defeating a strong team from Linlithgow Academy by 4 matches to 2.  In a fixture lasting three and a quarter hours, the scores were tied at 2-2 after the singles.  Dollar went on to win both doubles matches, and the team advances to play Hutcheson’s in the next round.  Accompanying teacher, Mr. David Hall, felt that the win owed a lot to the amount of doubles that the boys practise each Friday at Dollar Tennis Club.  The boys have guaranteed themselves a seeded place in next year’s draw.
